Paolo TANONI

Paolo started his career in 1985, and has more than thirty years of experience in the field of corporate finance and M&A. Over the years he developed a consolidated network of contacts of primary standing with market operators at both a domestic and international level.

He acts as advisor to industrial groups, private equity investors, banks and financial institutions in relation to corporate finance, M&A, debt restructuring, corporate restructuring transactions and joint-venture agreements.

He was a Partner of Studio Legale Tributario associated with Ernst & Young Law from 2000 and 2005, in the same period he was global head of the legal Merger & Acquisition department of Ernst & Young Law - Global E&Y Legal. He then joined HoganLovells, where he was a partner and head of Corporate Practice until 2012. In 2012 he created HNF, where he was senior partner.

Paolo currently holds positions in a number of Italian and international companies, investment funds and advisory firms: in particular, he is member of the board of directors of Ariston Thermo, Alberto Aspesi & Co., Echidna, Furla, Zeis Excelsa, Ethica Corporate Finance, Formula Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and is a statutory auditor of Compar (Bata). Until 2014 Paolo was an independent member of the board of directors and chairman of the risk control internal committee of Maire Technimont. He is one of the founding partners of CAN – Cartesius Advisory Network, an international strategic advisory company with offices in London, Milan, Zug, Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Paolo graduated in Law with Macerata University, and is a member of the Macerata Bar and also admitted to the Supreme Court and other Higher Courts Bar.
